John chapter 2 shows who Jesus is, centering on the events that took place at the wedding feast at Cana and in the temple in Jerusalem. First, at the wedding feast at Cana, when the wine ran out, Mary said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.” When the servants filled the stone waterpots with water according to the word of Jesus and took it to the master of the feast, the water turned into good wine. This was the first sign that Jesus performed, and it revealed His glory, and the disciples came to believe in Jesus. This event shows that the joy and ability that come from human beings can run out, but that Jesus gives new life and true joy to those who believe His word and obey it.
